Greater London Cycling Maps

A total of 19 maps covering the whole of Greater London have been produced by the London Cycling Campaign and Transport for London.

They follow on from the orignal Central London Cycling Map launched by the London Cycling Campaign in the 1970s and updated and improved with the help of London local authorities and CycleCity Guides in the late 1990s.

CycleCity Guides admits to imitating many of the features of the early London maps. All the latest maps follow the pattern developed by CycleCity Guides elsewhere of blue routes for the London Cycle Network, green routes for traffic-free sections and yellow routes for quieter recommended streets.

Route surveying for the new maps was carried out by CycleCity Guides following detailed ground work by members of the London Cycling Campaign and consultation with the London boroughs and Transport for London
